Loudoun County Administrator Tim Hemstreet emceed the event, with remarks by Board of Supervisors Chairman Scott K. York, Vice-Chairman Shawn Williams, Supervisor Suzanne Volpe and Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio, as well as Fire-Rescue Chief W. Keith Brower, Fire and Rescue Commission Chairman Nicolas Croce, Chief Byron Andrews of the Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad and President David Short of the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company.

“I have been anticipating the completion of the Kincora Safety Center for some time and it has surpassed my expectations,” said Chairman Scott K. York. “I am delighted to celebrate the opening of this facility, which brings career staff and volunteer companies together to serve the residents of Loudoun County. And I am especially grateful for the service of these dedicated men and women who serve and protect our community.”

The Kincora Safety Center, which opened in November, is located on a five-acre, developer-proffered site. Staffing for the Kincora Safety Center is provided by the Loudoun County Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management in conjunction with the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company and Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad. The new facility, which provides fire and rescue services, features several apparatus bays, bunkroom facilities, kitchen and dining areas, decontamination and laundry facilities, office and conference workspaces and repair shop space.

“The department is extremely excited to serve the citizens of this community from our new, first-class facility,” stated Chief of the Department, W. Keith Brower Jr. “This new station is providing critical emergency services to one of the most rapidly growing areas of Loudoun County.”
