Kincora: A Place to Live, Laugh, and Learn
Since its inception, the vision for Kincora has always been to create a special place to live, laugh and learn. Our support of the creation of a regional science center at Kincora is the perfect example of this commitment to a thriving and healthy mixed-use community in Northern Virginia.
In late February, the Virginia General Assembly approved the 2020 fiscal budget, which included $2.3 million to initiate the design of the regional science center in Northern Virginia. Located on land donated by the Kincora development, this regional science center will be 10x the size of the current Children’s Science Center Lab at Fair Oaks Mall and will serve an estimated 300,000 guests of all ages annually.
With a focus on science, technology, education, and math, the state-of-the-art museum will take advantage of the diverse, mixed uses within Kincora, as well as its proximity to 150 acres of preserved parkland. Next step—architects and engineers will be commissioned to design a regional science center reflecting the unique character and aspirations of the Northern Virginia region. The interactive science center will join the National Museum of Intelligence and Special Operations as the premier cultural attractions located at Kincora.
Our cultural attractions are just one of the reasons Kincora will be one of the best places to live in Loudoun County, VA. Check out our previous post, Kincora has a secret to reveal, to read about the National Museum of Intelligence and Special Operations also located within the Kincora community.
